Veracium is a Berlin-based venture building infrastructure for verifiable truth in the age of generative AI.
Why this exists
In 2024 and 2025, AI-generated video crossed the threshold where the human eye can no longer distinguish it from real footage. The institutions that depend on video as evidence — courts, newsrooms, insurers, human rights tribunals — were not given new tools to compensate. Veracium is one of those tools.
At the same time, the people who capture the footage that matters — journalists in war zones, under authoritarian regimes, on the trail of organised crime — face a parallel threat: exposure. A leaked name, a traceable device, a recoverable location, and the work can cost them their life. Veracium is built around this risk.
